Phillip A. Buhn, 84, of Bemidji, MN died Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Neilson Place.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Rev. Ron Gladen officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Phillip was born July 30, 1932 in Crookston, MN to Henry A. and Eva C. Buhn. He grew up in Mentor. Following his high school graduation in 1950, he spent time in the service and then continued his education at Moorhead State Teachers College and Bemidji State University. He became a respected and admired educator. He was an athletic coach, a math teacher and in later years an assistant principal in Bemidji Middle School. He enjoyed fishing and duck hunting and he was a great supporter of Ducks Unlimited. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his great sense of humor, his generosity and his phenomenal memory. Once he had your phone number in his head he never forgot it.
He is survived by sister, Ann Daley of Bemidji; brothers, Jack (Claire) Buhn of Bemidji and Steve Buhn of Bemidji; nieces, Laurie (Dave) Nielsen, Catherine Buhn, Elizabeth Buhn, Mary Kay (Dennis) Stocks and Phyllis Misso; nephews, Kevin (Nancy) Daley and Dann LeMasurier and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eva Buhn; sister, Mary LeMasurier and nephew, David LeMasurier.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Sanford Home Care and Hospice.
