Lester "Les" Leroy St. Peter

Lester “Les” St. Peter, 90, of Puposky, MN died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his daughter’s home.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Trinity Free Lutheran Cemetery, Pony Lake. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.

Lester Leroy St. Peter was born September 29, 1926 in Maple Ridge Township, MN to Joseph and Elsie (Duhamel) St. Peter. Lester grew up and lived on the same farm all of his life. He attended Way Side Elementary School in the Puposky area and graduated from Bemidji High School. Les served in the U.S. Navy during WW2 from September 22, 1944 to July 3, 1946 and was stationed in Manila in the Phillipines. On August 1, 1953 he married Helen Tisdell in Puposky, MN. They were married for 61 years. He was a farmer and a logger his whole life. He  was a fire warden for Maple Ridge Township for 35 years. Les drove bus for Bemidji School District 31 for 29 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, grouse hunting, riding ATV, loved playing cards and spending time with his family. He loved listening to country music.

He is survived by his daughters, Roberta Stout of Solway, Sandy Patenaude of Columbia SC, Gail (Dale) Edman of Bemidji, Denise (Mike) Skipton of Eden Prairie and Cathy (Terry) Fleck of Bemidji; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elsie St. Peter; wife, Helen St. Peter; son, Larry St. Peter; sister, Norma Andree; brothers, Howard, Edward, Ben and Leo and grandchildren, Tony St. Peter and Brenda Holden.

Family prefers memorials to Sanford Hospice and Home Care.
