Troy Wasen, 56, died Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
A private family service will be held on the shores of Swenson Lake in Beltrami County, MN.
Troy Marvin Wasen was born January 18, 1964 in Bemidji, MN to Marvin & Vicki Wasen.
He grew up in the country South of Bemidji and attended the Nary School, Horace May Elementary School as well as Bemidji High School. Troy married his wife, Kay Hadrava, in October 1987. They lived in Bemidji where they raised their three children. He loved traveling and enjoyed many trips with his family and friends to places including Yellowstone, Idaho, South Dakota, Montana, Canada to name a few and many destinations across Northern Minnesota. He genuinely enjoyed the outdoors where you could find him camping, four-wheeling, fishing, or snowmobiling. Troy liked to cook for those closest to him. However, his most treasured time was spent with his family, friends and his grandson James. What Troy loved most was being a grandpa, or Popeye as James used to call him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay; children, Kelly (Lance) Richter, Cole Wasen and Jared Wasen; grandson, James Richter; father, Marvin Wasen; siblings, Carsha (Jim) Lapp and Trent (Flordelisa) Wasen. Troy is preceded in death by his mother Vicki Wasen. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
