Trent Alan Klasen, 62, of Laporte Mn, ran into the arms of Jesus on June 2nd 2026 after complications from Leukemia, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo,ND.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2026 at Bemidji First Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment Lakeport Cemetery, Laporte, MN.
Trent was born on March 5th 1964 in Bemidji MN to Herbert and Patrica Klasen (Moss). He spent many of his early years living in Michigan; after moving back to Minnesota he attended Laporte high school and graduated in 1982. After high school he spent many years pursuing jobs in auto mechanics and small engine repairs. On the side he loved competing in car racing and demolition derby’s!
Trent met the love of his life, Carrie Vacura, at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale ND, and they were married in October of 1988. They raised one daughter together and had a life filled with love, patience, laughing at (and with!) each-other, and making memories.
Trent was one of the funniest and most positive people you could meet- he always had a way of finding the humor in everything. He found joy in his family, friends, church family, nature, and being outdoors. He loved antiquing, classic cars, being able to help others with his talent for fixing things, and especially finding a new treasure or a good deal!
Above all, the biggest passion in Trents life was his faith in Jesus. If there is one thing he would want everyone to remember about him, it would be his love for God and his desire for everyone else to know God as well. He had a faith that held strong even in the darkest times and through the many health struggles he had during his lifetime. Trent lit up any room that he entered and impacted the lives of everyone around him, he will be deeply missed and cherished.
Trent is survived by his mother, Patricia Klasen, his wife Carrie Klasen, Daughter Kaela (Zee) Abebe, brother Clay (Cindy) Klasen, Sisters Rochelle (Keith) Bartholomaus, Joyce (Kevin) Day, Jolynn (Kenn) Langaas, grandchildren Naomi, Zander, Gabriel, and Zion, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his Father Herbert Klasen and sister Vanessa Klasen.
