Timothy Welch, 65, of Bemidji, MN, died peacefully Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Bemidji Sanford Medical Center with family by his side.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2022 at Mt. Zion Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Tim Welch was born May 17, 1957, in Effingham, IL to Daisy “Nadean” Welch (Galloway) and Fred “JD” Lester Welch. Tim graduated from Effingham High School in 1975 and in later years moved to Bemidji, MN. He met Jacqueline “Jackie” (Sundvall), in June of 1989 and they got married on February 3, 1990. Tim worked at Northwoods Panelboard Co. for 20+ years and later in life worked and retired from Walmart.
Tim and Jackie lived in Tenstrike, MN and later in Bemidji, MN. Tim was a proud coach and umpire of little Stacey’s girls fastpitch softball team and the Bemidji 4H team. He enjoyed visits with family and friends and greatly cherished spoiling his grandchildren and great-grand children. He never turned down a game of cards or an evening at the racetrack cheering on his grandson. He was an accomplished gun collector who enjoyed hunting and fishing and as an avid Vikings fan, welcomed a good argument.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Welch (Johnson); brother, Bobby (Kristine) Cox; brother-in-law, Virgil Johnson/Jackie Erickson, sisters-in-law, Wanda (John) Baumgartner, and Colleen (Roger) Kjos, children, Stacie (Buck) Leeper, Travis (Megan) Sundvall, Timothy (Tricia) Welch, and Stacey Sundvall; grandchildren, Christopher Welch, Kyra Welch, Kade Leeper, Abigail Welch, Brie Leeper, Parker Sundvall, and Addison Sundvall; great-grand children, Nathan Johnson-Welch, and Beatrice Johnson-Welch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Daisy “Nadean” Welch, father, Fred “JD” Welch, brothers Delane Cox and Gerald Cox; father-in-law, Donald Hill, mother-in-law, Ardis Hill; sisters-in-law, Betty Johnson, Patty Tischman, and other beloved family members.
