Terry Dale Schmidt

Terry Dale Schmidt, 59, Bemidji, MN passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center shortly after being diagnosed with aggressive pancreatic cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be 3-6 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025 at the SouthShore Hotel on Lake Bemidji.

He was born on April 7, 1965 to Dale and Connie Schmidt in Bemidji. He grew up racing 4 wheelers, riding dirt bikes, wrestling and Tae Kwon Do. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1983 and received a business degree from U of M – Crookston. He started and owned TC Lighting Supplies and Recycling in Bemidji for many years. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and snowmobile, golfing, demo derby’s, being on the pontoon and spending time in Florida.

Terry is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Sara Gerbracht; his 3 children, Mercedies (Chais) Wakefield, Brady (Courtney) Schmidt and Trenton Schmidt; bonus son (Sara’s) Cooper Francis; his mother, Connie Schmidt; sisters, Shelley (Mark) Schmitt and Dawn (Gary) Kroening; numerous nieces and nephews; granddaughter, Layne Wakefield and grandbaby Schmidt (on the way).

He was preceded in death by his father Dale Schmidt and grandparents.
