Susan Bea Dahle, age 68, of Bemidji Minnesota passed away in her home surrounded by family after her battle with cancer on March 25, 2023.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with a 6:30 p.m., prayer service.

Susie was born on November 29, 1954 to Leonard and Lois Ratzlaff in Valley City, ND. They later moved to Grand Forks, ND. She attended Grand Forks Central High School and graduated from the University of North Dakota getting her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.

Susie moved to Cando, ND to start her first teaching job as a special education teacher. She met Randy, the love of her life and they later married on July 8, 1978 in Grand Forks, ND. They moved to Bemidji, MN in 1979. There they were blessed with three children: Matt, Danielle and Kelli. Susie and Randy built a beautiful life with their family in a tight knit neighborhood where many lifelong friendships were formed.

Susie taught 4th grade at St. Philip’s School and touched the lives of many students and colleagues. After 22 years of teaching Susie retired to spend time with her family and to continue to enjoy the everlasting friendships that she developed while working at St. Philip’s.

Susie enjoyed spending time with those closest to her. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Some of her favorite activities included: coffee with friends, walking, knitting, golfing, gardening, reading and being on the lake.

Susie was very thoughtful and caring. She was known for her heart of gold and always putting others first. She was a compassionate mother, a great friend and a devoted Catholic. Susie will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, and her ability to connect with those around her. Whether in the neighborhood, at school, out in public, or late at night in her kitchen, many people will be forever grateful for Susie’s genuine companionship.

Susie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Randy Dahle; her children Matt (Cynthia) Dahle, Danielle (Mychal) Stittsworth, Kelli (Erik) Jensen; her grandchildren Sophie and Willie Stittsworth, Brody, Rylie and Gracelyn Jensen, and Julian Dahle. Susie was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lois Ratzlaff and her sister Barbara Kulas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sanford Joe Lueken Cancer Center or St. Philip’s Catholic Church in her honor.
