Sidney "Sid" Sigurd Moe

Sidney “Sid” Moe, 87, of Bemidji, MN died April 12, 2025 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.

Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sidney Sigurd Moe was born November 20, 1937 in Bemidji to Samuel and Mary (Erickson) Moe. He grew up in Bemidji. He worked as a logger, as a mechanic at Dibble Chevrolet and then operated a Tastee Bread truck. On June 14, 1958 he married Janice Lamon at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji. They purchased Bemidji Mercantile and operated it until their retirement. Together they raised their 3 daughters in the Bemidji area. They enjoyed traveling, family trips and spending time at their lake home. Sid enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, curling and spending time at his hunting shack in Squaw lake. Sid loved to laugh and make jokes and his smile would light up a room. Sid was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who took pride in passing on his humor, hard work and love to the growing generations of his family.

He is survived by his wife Janice; daughters, Tammie Harr, Jodie Moe and Kristie (Royce) Southerland; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerone Moe and sister, Julie Ness.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy Moe and Jack Moe and one grandson.
