Sheldon Balcer, 65, of Bemidji Died Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home.
A memorial service will be held in his honor July 9th 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Bemidji Eagles. Please Park at the East entrance.
Sheldon Reid Balcer was born December 1, 1956 in Bemidji to Ladislaus and Hilma Balcer. Sheldon grew up and attended school in Turtle River, Blackduck, Kelliher, and finished school in Bemidji. He served in the Army National Guard for 8 years, worked for the Minnesota DNR, and Dickinson’s Lumber. In 1988 he started with Northland Hardwood Lumber Company and stayed with them until 2008. Sheldon always had a strong work ethic. He liked hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by children, Daniel (Stacy) Balcer of Laporte and Alicia (Jake) Burgoon of Bemidji as well as 11 grandchildren, brothers Rodney (Carol) Balcer of Bemidji, Brad (Dawn) Balcer of Cass Lake, Jerome Balcer of Bemidji and, sisters Gloria (Dale) Sundvall of Bemidji, and Val (Brian) Pollock of Bemidji.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ladislaus and Hilma Balcer; brothers Orlo Balcer, Delore Balcer, Leslie Balcer and David Lang and twin sisters Shirley and Sandra Balcer.
