Scott "Bake" Baker

Scott “Bake” Baker passed away on June 18, 2023 at the age of 75 in Bemidji, MN.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, on Friday July 14, 2023 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Scott was born on July 22, 1947, in Grand Forks, ND to Don & Una “Movold” Baker.

Scott attended school in East Grand Forks before moving to Bemidji in 1963 upon where he graduated in 1965. Scott enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 & was honorably discharged in 1970.  He returned to Bemidji & started working in the family business “Big North Dist.” & remained there until he retired in 2012.

He married his wife of 43 years Sheila Chastek on June 7, 1980 at the First Presbyterian Church, Bemidji.  Scott enjoyed doing many things which included bowling, golfing, painting, riding his motorcycle, loved riding his horse Arthur, playing his piano and coin collecting. But most of all he loved fishing with his buddy, “Peanut”.

Scott is survived by his wife, Sheila; son’s, Troy (Crystal) Baker & Craig (special friend, Laura Johnson) Baker; grandson’s, Josh , Max, Brock & Jaxson Baker; brother’s, Tony (Kari) Baker, Steve (Crystal) Bowen; sister, Nancy (Steve) Driscoll-Green.

He is preceded in death by his father, Don Baker; mother Una Bowen, stepmother Ruth Baker; brother Max Baker & granddaughter Paige Baker.

We will have a Celebration of Life on July 22, 2023 at the Bemidji Eagles Club from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A luncheon will be served.
