Russell "Rusty" Lee Fitzgerald

Russell “Rusty” Fitzgerald, 56, of Bemidji died Monday, December 30, 2019 at his mother’s home after 1 1/2 years of heart issues.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with Pastor Genelle Netland officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Russell Lee Fitzgerald was born January 28, 1963 in Fort Dodge, IA to Ronald and Margie (Berns) Fitzgerald. As a young boy the family moved to the Bemidji in 1970. He grew up and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1982 where he participated in football and swimming. After school he went into business for himself laying carpet and vinyl. Russell was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his mother, Margie Fitzgerald; children, Michael, Nicolle and Marc Fitzgerald; brothers, Randy (Barb) Fitzgerald and Rick Fitzgerald and several uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father.
