Ronald Aaron Zastrow

Ronald Aaron Zastrow, affectionately known as Ronnie, passed away on October 31, 2024, at the age of 76 at his home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Bemidji Eagles Club.

He was born on January 26, 1948, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Aaron Frank Zastrow and Lavone Vivian (Radjl) Zastrow. When Ronnie was young a child his family moved to Bemidji, Minnesota. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1966 and soon after began work for National T Grocery. He transitioned to working in the food service industry starting at Bemidji Candy Company, now Henry’s Food Service, for over 40 years as a salesman. Ronnie was a dedicated salesman for Henry’s Foods, where he built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike. Upon retiring, Ronnie started working part time for Steve’s Autobody, fueling his love for cars. 

He married Connie (Osmundson) Zastrow on August 16, 1986, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter and kindness. Ronnie was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his children: Jon, Jay, and Brittany as well as his grandchildren: Aaron (AJ), Nicole, Violet, and Erin. He enjoyed duck hunting, bowling, golfing, fishing, and shared many cherished memories over weekly lunches with his friends. His love for Dave’s pizza was well-known among his family and friends.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Jon Zastrow, Jay (Ray) Zastrow, and Brittany (Logan) Hanrahan; grandchildren, Aaron (AJ), Nicole, Violet and Erin and his older sister, Shirley Prince. His easy going nature and kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; Aaron Zastrow and Lavone (Radjl) Zastrow, his oldest sister Carolyn (Zastrow) Masterson and brother-in-law Rodney Masterson, and brother-in-law Terry Prince.
