Robert (Buck) Leroy Vigen, 84, of Bemidji, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
He was born January 5, 1940, in Cass Lake to Harold (Bob) and Lorraine (Blade) Vigen. He was raised in Bemidji and attended Bemidji schools, graduating in 1959. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard in 1957. He worked for Nesbitt’s Bottling Company and Coke in Bemidji, Minneapolis Moline in the Twin Cities, C. D. Haugen, Polman Transfer and Thorson Construction in Bemidji. In his later years he drove cars for various car dealers in Bemidji. He married Linda Atkinson in 1968. They were blessed with a daughter, Amy Marie, and son, Robert Harold. They later divorced. He married Barbara Casper July 15, 1978. His hobbies included glamping, collecting model cars, trucks and planes, reading Westerns, Histories and Mysteries, golfing and he loved driving cars. He loved training chipmunks and feeding the birds.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Amy (Scott) Odegard, son, Robert Harold Vigen and step-children Stuart and David (Sehila) Casper and Rebecca (Matt) Newton. Grandchildren, Maranda and Hanna Odegard. Brothers, Skip (Linda) and Tim Vigen, sister, Karen (Mike) Kelly and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Linda Vigen, and step-son, Jon Casper.
