Robert Wayne Kaasa

Robert Kaasa, 82, of Nebish, MN died Friday, November 10, 2023 at Essentia Health, Deer River, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be Alaska Township Cemetery.

Robert “Bob” Wayne Kassa was born July 26, 1941 in Nebish, Minnesota to Eivind L. and Nina Kaasa. He and his family resided in Nebish. Bob worked in the logging industry in California.  He was also employed with Reierson’s Construction and retired from Beltrami Electric.  He enjoyed being in nature, around the lakes of northern Minnesota.

He is survived by his children: Robin Kaasa, Nebish, Minnesota, Wayne (Judy) Kaasa, St Louis, Missouri, Connie Lato, Bemidji, Minnesota, Leaetta Kaasa, Nebish, Minnesota, Tom Kaasa, Bemidji, Minnesota, Sarah Kaasa, Bemidji, Minnesota and sister:  Nina Jean Roberts and grandchildren:  Justin Carter, Kayla LeBlanc, Andrew Heisz, Alicia Henjum, Brandon Kaasa, Jasmine Kaasa, Mitchell Curry, Jonathan Lossing, Alexander Lossing, Allen Kaasa, Hunter Kaasa and Oliver Kaasa

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Oscar (Butch) Kaasa, Ednor Kaasa, Arthur Kaasa, Arlak Kaasa, Norval Kaasa, Leroy Kaasa and Orben Kaasa, sisters: Irene Runyan and Leanore Workman.
