Robert Walter Carlson

Robert W. Carlson, 88, of Bemidji, MN died July 27, 2021 at GoldPine Home, Bemidji.

No services will be held. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Amasa, MI.

Bob was born a Yooper in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but the family moved to Lower Michigan where he grew up. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and St. Olaf College in Minnesota where he earned a Master’s Degree. He also served in the U.S. Navy on an oil tanker servicing ships throughout the Pacific. He taught for many years at the Bemidji Middle School and where he retired. Bob was a kind, generous and good man. He had a life well lived.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Tynne and Walter Carlson and older brother, Russell Carlson.

He is survived by his sister, Beverly Carlson of Rosemount, MN and cousins in California, Illinois and Wisconsin.

I wish to thank his doctors, the staff at GoldPine Home and all his wonderful neighbors and friends who supported him to make his life better.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 58, Amasa, MI 49903.
