Richard Cecil Miller

Richard Cecil Miller, age 85, passed away on November 6, 2024 surrounded by family.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Richard was born on April 1, 1939 to Walter and Theresa Miller in Bemidji. He attended school in Bemidji and worked on the family farm.

He met his beloved wife, Mary Lou (Hubbard) Miller on Halloween in 1958 and made her his wife on April 4, 1959, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage. Richard and Mary Lou made their home down the road from the Miller family farm and raised their three children together.

Richard was known as a jokester and as a hard-working man who was a friend to all he came across. He worked as a farmer, in construction, logging and trucking. He enjoyed racing cars and snowmobiles, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Miller; his children, Craig (Jenny) Miller, Laurie Miller and Corine (John) Knodel; his sister, Coleen (Al) Wiltse; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Theresa Miller; siblings, Walter Miller, Elwin Miller, Bernadine Jackson, Annzonetta Britton and Gerald Miller.
