Nia Joyce May

Nia May, 37, of Red Lake, MN died Saturday, December 16, 2023 in Minneapolis, MN.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2023 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Nia was born on September 5th, 1986 to John Jourdain and Marilayne May.  She grew up and attended school in Red Lake, MN.  Nia was free spirited and enjoyed time with family and friends.  She had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all.

Nia is survived by son, Daniel Storm May-Morrison, Redby, MN; brothers, Aaron May and Edward May, Sr, Red Lake, MN; grandparents, LaNae and William Pemberton, Red Lake, MN; father, John Jourdain, Red Lake, MN; Grandfather, Floyd Jourdain, Sr, Minneapolis, MN; Uncle, Floyd “Buck” Jourdain, Jr, Red Lake, MN; aunts, Jolene (Sonny) Schoenborn, Lylah May, Wendy Jourdain, Sue Jourdain, Patty Jourdain and Georgianna Jourdain.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilayne May; grandmother, Elaine Jourdain; grandfather, David May; great-grandmothers, Joyce Barrett and Margaret “Blush” May; great-grandfathers, Archie Barrett and Phillip May, Sr; aunt, Willa Jourdain and great-aunt Georgia May.
