Myra Hellen (Girling) Melberg

Myra Melberg, 76, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, November 16, 2023 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.

Myra Hellen Girling was born August 22, 1947 in Dalton, GA to Edward and Pearl Girling. She was raised in St. Paul.  On May 15, 1965 she married Emil Joseph Melberg in St. Paul.  Myra was a loving wife, mother, great cook, homemaker and animal lover.

She is survived by her husband, Emil “Joe”; children, Richard (Teresa White) Melberg and Timothy (Carrie) Melberg; grandchildren, Ashley Roberts, Joseph Melberg, Blake Melberg and Samantha Melberg; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean (John) Lauderbaugh, Maria (Myra’s twin) (Arnie) Eastep, Jeff (Carol) Girling and Sheila Girling; in-laws, Gloria (Larry) Wright, Bob (Mary) Melberg, Ellen (Robbie) Smith, Theresa (Stephen) Steele, Tom (Kim) Melberg, Bill (Brenda) Melberg, Cecelia Curry and John (Carol) Melberg and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy (Dave) Krekelberg; sister-in-law, Anita Matheney and many nieces and nephews.
