Michael O’Gorman, 78, of Bemidji, MN, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021.
There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at Mike’s home from 1 to 4 p.m.
Michael was born to Joseph and Angela O’Gorman on March 21, 1943 in Rochester, MN. He married Jacquelyn (Snow) on August 12th, 1961 to whom he was married for 53 years.
Mike graduated from Pine Island High School. He worked for the Ambulance Service of Rochester and then as Deputy/Investigator for the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Department. In 1977, he and Jackie moved to Eagle Lake so he could work as an investigator for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Mankato division. He transferred to the Bemidji Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and retired in 2005.
Michael was an active member of the Township board. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada and area lakes. A favorite pastime was as a photographer of wildlife. You could often find him in his tool cat cleaning up the trails on the acreage around his home. If there was a Minnesota Twins game on, you could guarantee he would be cheering them on with a beer in hand. Coffee with “the boys” in the morning was always one of the highlights of his day. Mike enjoyed reading a good thriller, watching a criminal/forensic movie and spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his three children; Jodie O'Gorman and partner Michael Mohr, her son Nicholas Evanson and his wife Emma and great-grandchildren Sara, Everett and Alice, and daughter Anna; daughter; Jill and John Willette, their children Emma and Steven Santee, Tony and special friend Jeni Berg; son, Michael J. O'Gorman, Jr. and Karla their children Aaron and special friend Laura, Alexandra, Ashton and Aricka and Sam Tusha. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn, and his parents.
