Marlys Lorraine (Hall) Sampson

Marlys Sampson, 82, of Bemidji, died Friday, September 18, 2020 at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2020 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with Pastor Mike Naylor officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Sampson Family Cemetery, rural Solway, MN.

Marlys Lorraine Hall was born March 4, 1938 in Bemidji, MN to Ernest & Elsie Hall.  She grew up on the family farm and attended Bowers Elementary School and then went on to graduate from Bemidji High School in 1955.  Marlys worked at various jobs before she married Bob Sampson on September 27, 1963 in Bemidji.  After they married, Marlys helped Bob run the family business.  She also drove for Beltrami County transporting area residents to and from their appointments.  Marlys enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (David) Robinson; 5 grandchildren (4 grandsons & 1 granddaughter), 14 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Sherry Lien; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, parents and 2 sisters.
