Marie Winifred (Southwick) Westerman

Marie Westerman, 89, of Bemidji, MN died Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Calvary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marie was born on February 28, 1935, in San Joaquin, California to her parents Harlo and Margaret Southwick. She moved to French Camp, California, when she was in 7th grade with her parents and her four siblings. In the 8th grade she met the love of her life, Ronald Westerman. They married in Stockton, California on August 28, 1954. They raised their three children in Lodi, California. 

Marie had a deep love for music. She played piano and the organ, wrote music, and loved to sing. She also loved all things dance and taught tap dancing when her kids were young. She and her sister, Dolly, and her brothers Harlo (Sonny), Danny and Charlie, performed dances at Town Hall and many other shows. She continued her love of music until the end of her life. 

Marie loved spending time with her family, taking photos, and making memories. She had a large collection of photos of her friends and family that decorated her home. She was an avid collector of many things from knick-knacks and dolls to art and jewelry and loved to buy and sell on Ebay. 

She is survived by her beloved husband Ronnie. Her brothers Harlo (Eleanor) Southwick and Danny (Joan) Southwick. Her children, Kathie Villegas, Mark (Jeannie) and Neil (Stephanie). Her grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Bristow, Jason (Nicole) Westerman, Ashley Dalrymple, Andrew (Ashley) Dalrymple, Phillip (Tammy)Westerman, David (Samantha)Westerman, Abbie, Sophie, Maki, DJ Westerman and Sophia Vorderbruggen. Her great grandchildren, Ellie and Oliver Bristow, Lucas and Lily Westerman, Molly and Wyatt Dalrymple, Evelyn and Charlotte Dalrymple, Kirka and Vinny Westerman, Tenley, Harper, Mila and Hattie Westerman, and Navani Beaulieu. Many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charlie Southwick, a sister Dolly Sellars, nieces Denise Southwick and Mary Sellars, and a grandson Christopher Caplinger.
