Marie Estelle (Morrissette) Stebe

Marie Stebe, 86, of Bemidji, Minnesota died Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025  at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Deacon Kermit Erickson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.

Marie Estelle Morrisette was born July 22, 1939, in Crookston, Minnesota to Wilfred and Catherine Morrissette. 

Marie grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota, attended St. Philips Elementary and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1957.  On February 25, 1961, she married Dale Lee Stebe in San Bernardino California. Marie attended Bemidji State College and obtained a degree in Elementary Education. Her teaching career started in California then upon returning to Minnesota she taught in Fosston. Marie then taught at Red Lake Elementary School for over 30 years before retiring.

Marie enjoyed spending her summers at Big Lake, playing Bingo, lunch with friends, doing puzzles and playing cards. And most importantly spending time with her daughters and their families.  She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. 

Marie was a member of St Philips Catholic Church. 

She is survived by daughters Jana (Herbert) Bromenshenkel of Bemidji, Rae (John) Buschette of Sauk Centre and Wendy (Jamie) Peterson of Oklee; eight grandchildren Dale (Laura) Bromenshenkel of Bemidji, Shaena (Kevin) Kuch of Grand Forks ND, Michael (Stephanie) Buschette of Beaverton, OR; Kady (William) Krivanek of Blanchardville WI, Josh Buschette (Kayla) Indianapolis, IN; Derek Peterson (Sydnie) of Fargo ND; Leah Peterson of Oklee; and Luke Peterson of Oklee.  Great-grandchildren David and Ben Bromenshenkel; June Kuch; Evie and Maren Buschette; Aspen and William Krivanek. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, parents Catherine and Wilfred Morrisette; sisters Beulah Peterson, Louella Yelle, Dorothy Bolin, Doris Asselin, Isabelle Gribbon, and brothers Edward, Maurice and Eugene Morrisette.
