Margaret Joan (Weis) Wayne

Margaret Wayne, 102, of Bemidji, MN died Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.

Margaret Joan (Weis) Wayne was born on April 27, 1918 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Jacob and Catherine (Raeder) Weis. She grew up and attended school in Bemidji. She married Edward Wayne in 1941. They were later divorced. Margaret worked for many years at F.W. Woolworth’s, retiring in 1982. Margaret was an accomplished seamstress, sewing clothes, blankets and even wedding and bridesmaids dresses for many others and herself until poor eyesight made her unable to continue. While living in her home, she enjoyed having many flowers in her yard. She moved to Red Pine Estates in 1995.  She loved being the one chosen to make the decorations for the community room of Red Pine for all of the tenants to enjoy. She was always looking for clever ideas for the decorations to make them special.

Margaret is survived by two grandchildren, Pam (Wayne) Matney of Omaha, NE and Michael (Stephanie) Dailey of Delano, MN, 4 great grandchildren, Jayson (Nikki) Matney, Owen, Dawson and Jenna Dailey, and 1 great great-granddaughter, Phoenix.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Catherine, 2 sisters, Susan and Catherine, 6 brothers, Matt, Harry, Ben, Charlie, Joe and Jake, her daughter, Jean Dailey and her grandson, Edward Dailey.
