Lucille Jess (Jess) Kaiser Reid

Lucille Jess Kaiser Reid, 98, of Bemidji, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at GoldPine Home, Bemidji.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Evangelical Free Church, Bemidji. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Oak Hills Cemetery, Bemidji.

She was born July 11, 1923 in Newton, Iowa, to Harry and Lena Jess. She married Carl P. Kaiser on Sept. 7, 1943, in Park Rapids, Minn. They were the parents of two children, Linda (1951) and John (1955). Following Carl’s death on Feb. 25, 1962, Lucille married Robert Reid on April 19, 1975.

She was an employee of Oak Hills Fellowship from 1962 until 1981, where she served as bookkeeper. Lucille was active in Carr Lake Bible Church, Guthrie Chapel, and was currently attending Evangelical Free Church of Bemidji.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Carl Kaiser and Robert Reid; sister, Irene Fisher; brother, Leroy Jess; sister-in-law, Effie Lopez Hunt; brother-in-law, Lee Lopez; and son-in-law, Bob King.

She is survived by her children, Ellen Reid Ward and husband Dan of Bemidji; Linda Kaiser King of Clarksville, Arkansas; and John Kaiser and wife Sue of Kadoka, South Dakota; a sister, Gladys Jess Burnham of Lockridge, Iowa; grandchildren, Carissa Ward Sheehan and husband Dave of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jason Ward of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Carla King Young and husband Matt of Rogers, Arkansas, and Laura King of Clarksville, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Vin Young, Jackson Sheehan, Hope Young, and Jacob Sheehan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was deeply loved by all who knew her.
