Loretta Lorshbough, 89, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Pinewood-Dodge Cemetery, with Pastor Alex Schuld officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Wearing of masks is strongly encouraged at both the visitation and memorial service. Social distancing guidelines will be in effect and it is requested that you bring your own mask if you have one as well a lawn chair if needed during the service.
Loretta Mae Oslund was born May 4, 1931 to Chester and Mable Oslund. As a one year old, her family moved to the rural Solway area. She attended Woodland country school in the earlier years and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1949. She married Duane Lorshbough on October 12, 1949 in Pinewood, Minnesota. They made their home in Pinewood. Loretta became the Postmaster of Pinewood in the early 1960s until the post office closed in the early 1970s. She and Duane then headed north to Fairbanks, Alaska where she worked as a Teamster. Loretta was also a proud member of the Pinewood Bruun Legion Auxiliary, placing flags graveside every Memorial Day. In retirement, Duane and Loretta traveled to forty-nine of the United States in their pickup camper with a boat on the top. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Duane. She enjoyed her grandkids and great grandkids, always having candy to give them when they visited.
Loretta is survived by her sons, Steve (Ruth), Erhard, Minnesota, Glen, Pinewood, Minnesota, Jack (Debbie), Pinewood, Minnesota, sister Joanne Peterson, Asheboro, North Carolina, brother, Clayton Oslund, Duluth, Minnesota, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
