Loren Leeper, 74, of Bemidji, died at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center on August 27, 2021.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at River City Community Church, rural Becida, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Loren Duane Leeper was born November 1, 1946, in Crookston, MN to Eugene & Lorraine Leeper. At 2 years old he lost his father in a car accident and he was raised by John Souder. He grew up and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1964. After graduation, Loren was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged in December of 1967. He married Judith Grimsley on April 19, 1969, and the two would become foster parents to Raymond & Robert Miller. In 1979, Loren & Judith adopted a baby girl whom they named Tamsen. He loved fishing, hunting, stock cars, talking to people (he’d stop and talk to a stranger at the store.) He had a heart for people and was full of wisdom. He loved sharing stories about his time in the service and loved our Country and its Flag. Loren was a Road Supervisor for Port Hope Township.
Loren is survived by his wife, Judith; daughter, Tamsen (James) Skala; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; foster son, Robert Miller; sister, Sharon Polman. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; brother, Gene; foster son, Raymond Miller.
