Leona Marie (Schummer) Traut

Leona Marie Traut, 94, Bemidji, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Nielson Place of Bemidji.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 1, 2022 at St. Philips Catholic Church with Fr. Christon Mahero officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery of Bemidji.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Gabrielson, Shawna Gabrielson, Mikayla Gabrielson, Ryan Traut, Terry Hanson and Duane Hanson.

She was born January 21, 1928, to Tony and Marv Schummer in Bemidji.  She grew up and attended school in Bemidji.  She married Roy Traut on August 2, 1947, in Bemidji.  They lived in Milwaukee for 10 years then moved to Minneapolis where they retired.  They then moved to Bemidji. 

She enjoyed traveling, gardening and just being outdoors.

She is survived by sons Larry Traut of Osseo and Doug Traut of Oak Grove, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Mark and Eugene, husband Roy, her sister Beverly and three brothers Alvin, Jack, Charles.
