Leann Marie Dorr

Leann Marie Dorr, age 62, of Bemidji, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, surrounded by her family at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji. Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji from 5:00pm to 7:00p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.

Born on May 8th, 1962 in Bemidji, Leann was the daughter of Marvin and Marion (Schmidt) Dorr. She graduated from Bemidji High School, then later received her Associates degree in Accounting from St. Cloud Business College. Leann’s passion for working with numbers and for helping others led her to many different roles in her lifetime such as her various roles at the county, Northwoods Battered Women’s Shelter and many other businesses in the area. 

For Leann, great things came in pairs. Leann was the mother to two children, Matt and Kimmy, and the younger sister to her two brothers, Dennis and Steve. Leann loved to keep busy with anything that she set her mind to. She was an avid cribbage and BINGO player and took any opportunity she could to play a quick game with you. Her love of fishing, camping and Mickey Mouse will continue to be cherished, and her incredible sense of humor, kind heart, and unwavering support for her family and friends will live on in all who knew her. Leann was determined to do anything and everything for her children and for her siblings and shared a special bond with each of them.

Leann’s family would like to thank her care team all around the state of Minnesota for their compassionate care over the years and during her final days.

She is survived by her son Matt Dorr of Bemidji, MN, daughter Kimmy Cole (Mason Pickar) of Bemidji, MN, siblings Dennis Dorr of Bemidji, MN, Steve (Sally) Dorr of Shoreview, MN, Friend and Former Partner Mike Cole of Bemidji, MN, 2 nieces Sierra and Molly, 3 nephews Andy (Mindy Park) Dorr, Jason Dorr and Greg (Ellen) Dorr, her aunt Jeanette Lund, and numerous cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Marion, grandparents August and Bertha Schmidt, uncles and aunts.
