Judy was born on May 7, 1950 to Gladys Nelson and Wilbur Carr in Bemidji MN and she passed away on January 5, 2025 surrounded by her daughters after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at First Lutheran Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.
She was raised by her Mother and lived on the family property with 5 uncles who also helped care for her and her siblings. She met and married Arnold Hallan Jr, moved to White Bear Lake, MN and had two children. She remarried in 1971 to Kenneth Erickson in Bemidji and went on to have two more daughters. She spent her whole life raising her children and making the best home she could for them and she will always be remembered for that, for her immaculate home and best fried chicken in town. She had a passion for country music and loved to play bingo at the Eagles Club.
She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Jason) Fredenburg, Carey Hallan, Michelle (Ashley) Erickson and Laura Erickson, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and sisters, Janet Hallan and Nancy Erickson.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, two siblings-Mabel Barge and Galen Nelson and a great granddaughter Kylee Jo Conkle.
