Judy Ann (Erickson) Long Bastien

Judy Ann Bastien, 75, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, January 25, 2020 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2020 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, with Pasto John Yingling officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the spring in Southarm Cemetery.

Judy Ann Erickson was born October 28, 1944 in Bemidji to Melvin and Olga Erickson. Judy grew up in Bemidji where she attended school. In 1968 she married Ivan Long. She worked at the Markham Hotel for a short time, until her daughter was born. Ivan passed in 2003. Judy married John Bastien and they enjoyed cross country skiing, camping and riding her bike on trails in Bemidji, Key West, San Francisco and Washington, DC. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. Her favorite past time was talking with her daughter on the telephone every night. Judy took very good care of her family and loved them very much.

She is survived by her husband, John Bastien; daughter, Ann (Roger) Anderson; sisters, Nora (Lyle) Warwas Nashwauk, Violet Ayres of Longview, WA, Edna Sandberg of Bemidji and Betty Briggs of Centralia, WA and 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ivan Long; infant son and brother, Edward Erickson.
