Joyce JoAnn (Klasen) Vincent

Joyce JoAnn (Klasen) Vincent of Bemidji, MN, passed away in her sleep on April 7, 2020, at home in the care of her oldest son Dale and oldest grandson Michael (Brandy). She was born on April 15, 1936 in Maple Ridge Township, MN to John Herman Sr and Lela Mae (Eastman)Klasen. The family later moved into Bemidji and then to rural Bemidji. She worked at Lake Julia Sanitarium in Puposky, MN and the Red Owl in Bemidji, MN.

She married Rudolf Bohlmann on October 13, 1956. They lived in Bemidji, MN. From that union there were born 2 children, Dale and Gale.

On January 6, 1962, she married Thomas Dale Vincent Sr in Petersburg, Virginia, where they lived until he was discharged from the Army in August of 1962. They completed their family with 2 more children, Tom Jr and Joy. They lived in Hannaford, ND and Walum, ND where she was a housewife and seamstress. They moved to the family farm in rural Bemidji in 1971. She was a farmwife for many years, assisting with the farm work and keeping a large garden, along with the flowers she loved. She spent many hours, during the summer months, with her children picking wild berries, for the best jelly and jam, and canning garden produce. She loved to crochet, embroider, and sew for her family and others.  She worked for a time thru Bi-Cap teaching sewing and alterations to low income families. She also worked at Anderson’s in Blackduck for approximately 10 years. Her greatest joy in later years was caring for her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dale Bohlmann, Gale (Jeff) Johnson, Tom Vincent Jr, and Joy (Daniel) Kelm; grandchildren, Michael/Brandy (Jenny) Bohlmann, Luke and Troy Faughn, Amanda, Monica, and Nikita Vincent, Rob, Roy, Shawn (Jenny) and Carl (Katrina) Kelm; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings John Klasen, Jr, Kathy (Lowell) LaBerge, Mickey Klasen (Noreen), Karen (Ernie) Johnson, Cheryl (John) Gilbertson, Bonnie Nepstad (Tom), Juanita (Delbert) Smith

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; brothers Robert and Raymond Klasen, sister Marlene Marie Klasen; son-in-law John Stephen Faughn; great-grandson Jack Daniel Kelm; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; along with several niece and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
