John Bloberger, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1945, in Hopkins, Minnesota, to Nick and Edith (Flickinger) Bloberger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.
He was born on September 23, 1945, in Hopkins, Minnesota, to Nick and Edith (Flickinger) Bloberger. John graduated from Hopkins High School in 1963. He was later drafted into the United States Navy, proudly serving his country from 1965 to 1967. In 1971, John made his home in Bemidji, Minnesota, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and community.
On August 5, 1972, John married the love of his life, Marj. Together they shared nearly 54 years of marriage, creating a strong and loving family.
John was a dedicated and hardworking man who held many jobs throughout his life, taking on a variety of roles across several workplaces before retiring in 2018. He was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever was needed.
In his free time, John found joy in the simple things he loved most—reading, watching movies, hunting, fishing, and following baseball and football. Above all, he cherished supporting his family and took great pride in encouraging them as they pursued their own passions and interests.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Marj; his children, Paula (Jason) Antes, Melanie Bloberger, Jacob Bloberger, and Clark Bloberger; and his grandchildren, Lucian, Wyatt, Arianna, Cora, and Inara. He is also survived by his siblings, Gladys Henson and Mike (Cheryl) Bloberger; brothers-in-law Dave and Rick Wyatt; sisters-in-law Joyce and Joanne Wyatt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Edith Bloberger; his parents-in-law Chet and Audrey Wyatt; his brother-in-law Larry Henson; his sister Mickey (Sidney) Frissell; his brother Cliff (Sue) Bloberger; his sister-in-law Candy Wyatt; and his brothers-in-law Dale and Marty Wyatt.
John will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his family, and the steady presence he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he loved.
