Jeanette Lund, 86, of Buffalo, MN formerly of Bemidji died Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Havenwood Assisted Living, Buffalo.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Rev. Robert Wentzel officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.
Jeanette Ruth Lund was born March 16, 1939 in Bemidji to August and Bertha (Nehring) Schmidt. She was baptized April 7, 1939 and was confirmed June 14, 1953. She attended Buck Lake School for grades 1-6 and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1957. Jeanette lived in Ten Lakes Township until 1951 when she moved to Bemidji. On July 6, 1963 she married Daniel Lund at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji. Jeanette worked at Red Cap Dairy from 1956-1957, was secretary to the Beltrami County Superintendent from 1958-1967, secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church from 1967-1973, bookkeeper at Beltrami County License Center from 1970-1990 and then became supervisor from 1990-2000. Dan and Jeanette were active volunteers for the Grant Valley 4-H Hustlers in the 80’s. She hosted deer camp and Thanksgiving for 35 years and was known for her hard tack and chocolate chip cookies. Jeanette was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cass Lake until 1951 and then Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, the slots at the casino, playing cards, games on computer and picture puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Tonja) Lund of St. Michael, MN; grandchildren, Daniel (Ashley) and Alexis (Paul Brichta) Lund and great-granddaughter, Freyja Noel Lund expected in early June.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Bertha Schmidt; husband, Daniel Lund; brothers, Frederick, Ralph and Edwin Schmidt and sister, Marion Dorr.
