James “Jim” Langerak, 89, of Bemidji, MN died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2025 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Aardahl Lutheran Cemetery, Bemidji.
James “Jim” Langerak was born February 18, 1936, in Bemidji, MN, to the parents of George and Clara Langerak. He grew up on a farm southeast of Bemidji. In 1953 at the age of 17, he enlisted into the Navy. In 1957, he re-enlisted into the Air Force. After the military, he began driving fuel trucks around the Twin Cities area. In 1970, he married Mildred (Evans) Langerak and had four children. After the, 4th they had finally created perfection. After 30 years, he retired from driving truck in 1993. He went on to drive school bus for the next 18 years. He enjoyed traveling with his late wife, gardening, square dancing, and buying the dollar boxes at auctions.
He is survived by his children Lavonne (Tim) Sullivan, Loren (Kristi) Langerak, Lanette (Jon) Anderson, and Luke (Lacey) Langerak; grandchildren Michael Sullivan, Kyla (Brady) Hannem, Kate Langerak, Nathan (Aurora) Anderson, Evan Langerak and Aaron Langerak; great-grandchildren Mason and Blake Hannem and sister, Joan Allen, He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers, Edward and Gordon.
