Gloria Jean (Allen) Dudley

Gloria Jean Dudley, “Makoonce” meaning Little Bear, was called home on February 16, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born on March 7, 1948, to James E. Allen, Sr. and Vina (Bongo) Allen.

Gloria grew up in the Walker/Onigum area.  After high school, she attended Haskell University and Bemidji State University.  Her passion for working in the educational field was reflected in her career.  Her membership with the Ojibwe Hymn Singers was an important part of her religious life committing herself to helping families when a loved one was lost. Gloria was passionate in her relationships with others, always emphasizing the positives in others.  The love she had for her family, relatives and friends was much greater than can be imagined and she always stressed to show their love to one another. 

Family that welcomes Gloria home are her parents, James Allen, Sr., Vina (Bongo) Allen; brothers, Gary G. Allen, Rodney D. Allen; sister, Lila (Allen) and many relatives. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her husband and lifelong companion, Thomas William Dudley; children, Michelle (Zac) Larsen, Sharon Dudley, and Gary Allen; grandchildren, Bradley Dudley, Tyler Larsen, Sylas Dudley, and Essence Dudley; siblings, James Allen, Jr., Margaret Allen, Betsy (Ernest) Allen, Aileen (Brady) Allen and Michael Allen.
