Frank "Dan" Daniel Zentek

Frank D. Zentek, 83, of Cass Lake, MN formerly of Westmont, IL, born May 7, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Frank R. Zentek and Helen (Kosek) Zentek passed from this world on May 22, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Park Rapids, MN.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cass Lake with Rev. Kuriakose Nediakala officiating. A Time of Sharing will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2020 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

He served in the US Army Reserves from 1959-1966.  He married Barbara Younger on September 10, 1966. Frank was employed for Commonwealth Edison (Now Exeleon) for 37 years starting as a clerk, then service rep, collector, illustrator (he was a talented artist) and promoted to manager of 5 departments. After retiring in 1992, he and Barbara moved to Cass Lake and built a log house on Kitchi Lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and working on the house and yard. He loved to travel and his favorite vacation spot was Jamaica. He served on the Board of Directors for Beltrami Electric, drove test cars, attended Sheriff Winger’s Sheriff Citizen Academy and served on Sheriff Winger’s Citizens Committee and Beltrami County Republican Committee. He was an avid collector and loved going to flea markets and garage sales. As a young man, he was very athletic, playing football, basketball and captaining his Cabin Cruiser on Lake Geneva, WI. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles 351 in Bemidji. He will be greatly missed by wife Barbara, sister, Linda of Indiana; brother Dave (Kris) of Las Vegas, NV; many friends especially, Mark Anderson, Kath Molitor, Heide (Charlie) Johnson and Jim and Alverna Michalko and many nieces and nephews. Also sisters-in-law, Sandra (Chuck) Beusch, Nancy Keller and Shirley (Mark) Linden and brother-in-law Don (Shirley) Younger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Weaver, niece, Susan Schultz and great nephew, Zack Caruso.
