Frannie Tjader, 70, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, beloved Bemidji resident and Nymore legend, passed away on February 15th, peacefully at home.
Frannie was born in Duluth on May 8th, 1953, and was adopted at 21 months by Norman G and Sylvia Levine, in a move that was widely regarded as the best decision they ever made. She claimed to be the first girl to wear jeans to Duluth East High School, from which she graduated in 1971. She had perfect pitch and could tune a guitar perfectly by ear. She loved camping and canoeing and was very involved in these communities. She tried to help find every dog that has ever been lost in the Bemidji area. She was everybody’s mom, taking in friends of her kids when they were in a tough spot, and always happy to cook up some vegan chili for a bunch of wayward punk rockers.
Frannie is survived by her three sons Jason Tjader (Amy Tjader) of Bemidji, Tyler Tjader of Minneapolis, and Sam Tjader of Bemidji. Granddaughters Annie (Ben) Michaud, Emily Tjader, and Lila Tjader. Great-granddaughters Oaklynn, Taylen, and Maisyn Michaud. Sister Marium (Chris) Peers of New York.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Tjader.
