Esther Daphne Murray

Esther Daphne (Davis) Murray, 85, of Bemidji, MN passed away on Saturday August 1, 2026.

Esther was born March 1, 1941 in Stockholm Township, raised in upstate NY. She was married to James (Jim Murray, deceased) on July 10, 1961, in Brasher Falls, NY. They lived in Coos Bay, Oregon from 1962-1970. Then moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1970. She lived there until she moved to Bemidji, MN in 2024 to be close to family.

Esther is survived by her daughters; Jamie DeVries (Timothy) of Chattaroy, WA and Elaine Miller (Ryce) of Bemidji, MN; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Murray; daughter Loree Schimmack.

Esther was a member of First United Methodist Church, in Fairbanks, AK. She was a 50 year Member of PEO Chapter B-AK and hosted a relay for life cancer team with her husband Jim for many years. She also enjoyed reading, camping and traveling.

Esther's family was of the highest priority. Her children were treasured, grandchildren cherished and great-grandchildren beloved.

Esther is remembered to be faithful in her convictions, gentle in her compassion and strong in her love.
