Ernest Huderle, 89, of Bemidji, MN died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Philips Catholic Church, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Ernest Jerome Huderle was born September 20, 1931 in Tabor, MN to Jerry and Sophie (Pribula) Huderle. As a young boy the family moved to Bemidji area. He attended Campbell Lake School, Carr Lake School, St. Philip’s school and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1950. He attended Bemidji Teachers College for a year until he was drafted into the US Army. He served in Germany during the Korean War. Ernie was honorably discharged in 1955, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the service, he came home and went to work in Silver Bay, MN in the taconite mines for the next nine years. In 1966, he went into business with his brother John as an auto mechanic with Huderle’s Repair. Ernie finally retired in 2006. He was a lifelong member of St. Philips Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and watching Gunsmoke and football games.
He is survived by sister, Lillian Huderle of Bemidji, MN; sister-in-law, Morene Huderle and brother-in-law, Duane Bruneau; and many nieces and nephews. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace Stauty, Kathryn Schoen, and Madonna Bruneau; brothers, John & Richard Huderle.
