Emily Anderson, 85, Tenstrike, MN passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, in Sanford Bemidji Medical Center surrounded by her children.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.
Honorary Bearers will be Courtney Lazer, Kelsey White, McKenzie Olson, Alexander Olson and Elise Olson.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Anderson, Dean Henkemeyer, Mark Olson, Rob Olson, Cordell Lazer and Ethan Olson.
Emily was born February 14, 1938 to Clarence and Helen Hart in Bemidji. She attended Bemidji High School where she obtained her high school diploma. In December of 1962 she married Swen Anderson of Tenstrike, where they owned and operated a beef farm. On the farm is where they raised their four children Susan, Linda, Joan and Jeffery. Emily enjoyed helping her husband on the farm and working in her large vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed knitting and doing stitch work for family and friends and going for daily walks with her loyal dogs by her side.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Swen; parents Clarence and Helen; brother, Allen; sister, Beverly and brother-in-law Veron Rolfson; and brothers-in-law Delbert Peck and Roy Beckworth.
Emily is survived by her children Susan (Dean Henkemeyer) of Sauk Rapids, Linda (Mark Olson) of Sauk Rapids, Joan (Rob Olson) of Annandale and Jeffery Anderson of Tenstrike; seven grandchildren Courtney and Cordell Lazer, Kelsey White, McKenzie and Alexander Olson and Ethan and Elise Olson and one great-grandchild due in August. She is also survived by her sister Shirley Peck and sister-in-law Donna Beckworth and brother-in-law Glen Anderson and her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
