Earl Dean Speckman

Earl Speckman, 88, of Puposky, MN died Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Sanford Broadway Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 9, 2021, at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Pastor Mike Naylor officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.

Earl Dean Speckman was born May 16, 1933, to Fred & Emma Henke Speckman in Welcome, MN.  At the age of 8, his family moved to the Puposky, MN area where they purchased a farm.  Earl grew up and attended rural schools near there.  He married Esther Quesnel Petersen on June 10, 1978, in Bemidji.  Earl would remain on the family farm where he raised beef cattle, quarter horses and draft horses.  He was a member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Minnesota Cutting Horse Association, and the Go & Whoa Club.  Earl also enjoyed attending cutting shows and wagon trains.    

Earl is survived by his children; Karl (Kay) Petersen, Roger (Lori) Petersen, Mary (Martin) Yerbich and Theresa (Daniel) Peterson; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; niece, Sherry Wilson; nephew, Tim (Nancy) Wilson; special friend, Doris Nelson.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Esther and sister, Delphine Wilson.
