Dwight Gerald Knute

Dwight Gerald Knute, 79, of Bemidji, MN passed away Saturday May 31, 2025 at his home.

Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 1 pm at the Eagles Club in Bemidji, MN.

Dwight was born March 29th 1946 in Annadale, MN the son of Arnold and Pearl Knute (Hill). He had one brother and was the youngest in the family. He moved to the Bemidji area as a young adult and worked multiple jobs. He began racing in 1970 and raced all the way until 2002. He won many races and placed in the top 10 many times. He also had Knute’s auto repair and towing. After he was done racing, he had Dwights small engine repair for many years. I'm sure a lot of us had brought something to him a time or two. He also taught many people how to do what he did so well. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #351 for nearly 50 years. He was highly involved in the club. He will be dearly missed by many at the club.

Dwight is survived by his daughters, Debra, Shannon and Cassandra; son, Sky; his wife Karen Knute; his step-children, Quinton, Alysha, Melissa and Carl; grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis, Kirrianna, Lily and Jax; great-granddaughter, Piper; dear friends and neighbors Jeremy Platt, Rick and Leona Winters; many nieces and nephews. Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Pearl; his grandparents; his nephew, Lance Knute and adoptive son Steven Daken also many fur babies.
