Daniel Jack Kelm passed away in his sleep at home in the care of his wife and family, on November 14, 2020, ending his 4 year battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

He was born April 13, 1958 to Jack and Wilma (Burgoon) Kelm. He grew up on a farm, along with 9 siblings. He graduated from Bemidji High School. He then worked for his dad on the farm and in the woods. On July 22, 1981 he married Joy Vincent. They had 4 boys. Dan then found the opportunity to work for Sellin Brothers when they started the road construction on County road 9 in Bemidji. During this time, he became a member of the 49’ers Union. He continued his career for 30+ years with Sellin Brothers in Hawley, MN. Dan was forced to retire, because of his battle with cancer, so he continued to farm and teach his grandchildren how to manage and run the farm.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; children, Rob, Roy, Shawn (Jenny) and Carl (Katrina); special daughters, Trina, Sheila and Holly; 15 grandchildren, Ann, Amber, Olivia, Hailee, Alana, Oliver, Emily, Joanna, Arianna, Aubrey, Blake, Jack, Danielle, Gavin and Chase; siblings, Judy (Curt) Black, Fred (Peggy) Kelm, William (Connie) Kelm, Marian (Ronnie) Vold, Karen Thoring, Willard Kelm, Vickie (Mike) Schmerbeck, Gary (Trudy) Kelm and Jim Kelm and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Wilma Kelm; grandchildren; in-laws, Joyce and Tom Vincent; brother-in-law, Bob Thoring and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
