Christopher "Frenchy" James French

Christopher James French, “Frenchy”, 51, was born May 8, 1974 in Bemidji, MN to James French and Maggie French.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In 1993 he was blessed with his Daughter Jasmine and later blessed with his Son Luke and Youngest Child Nyx. Beyond his family and friends, Chris’ other great love was nature and the outdoors whether it was deer hunting with his Grandpa and Dad, duck hunting with friends, sitting on the porch in Cass Lake listening to John Denver records on his Grandparent’s stereo, or walking miles through the woods. He shared his love of music with his friends with some favorites being Misfits, Danzig, NOFX, and Dropkick Murphys. Chris was in his element living on his family land with the four-legged family he and Allison created. He looked forward to daily calls with his mom and children, and visits from his dad. Chris was always positive and bouncy with a smile on his face. He was always ready to crack a joke and lived for today. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children. He always made sure to tell you he loved you and gave the best hugs. Chris is irreplaceable to those who loved him dearly.

Chris is survived by his parents Maggie French, Jim French (Madonna), his children, love of his life Allison Forte, sister Dyane and her children Taylor Yerbich and Hunter Yerbich. Aunts Gayle French, Sharon Tarrant, Dyane Tarrant, and numerous cousins. Chris had great love for their furry companions Moose and their beagles Max and Chapo.

Welcoming Chris to his next journey is his grandparents Charles and Myrtle French, and Pete and Peg Settemberino, brother-in-law Tim Yerbich, and his buddy Miles.
