Charles Robert Wiggins, 84, of Bemidji passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Cura of Monticello.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji, MN. Our family is grateful for your thoughts, prayers, and condolences during this time of loss.
Charles was born in Clayton, New Mexico to Charles Thomas and Lillie Mae (Davidson) Wiggins. He was the youngest of four children. They left Kenton, Oklahoma in 1953 and moved to Goodridge, Minnesota. Charles graduated from Goodridge High School in 1958
Charles married Judeen M. Olson in January 1959 in Thief River Falls, MN, where they resided with their three daughters until October 1963, when his over-the-road trucking brought them to Bemidji, MN. They were married until 1981.
Charles married Dolores (Weis) Gregg on July 3, 1982. He worked heavy equipment, road construction and road maintenance for Beltrami County Highway Department for 23 years retiring in 2008. Prior to Beltrami County he worked for Christiansen Construction and Wright Contracting making several trips to Alaska where he spent a year there working road construction and hauling supplies for World Equipment.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping.
He was a member and a deacon at Ridgewood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Rita (Michael) Drews, Kim (Robert) Holub, and Shelley (Terry) Ausk, stepdaughter Barbara (Paul) Kennedy, stepson Gary (Kari) Gregg, 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandsons, 18 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews, and lifetime best friend Earl “Pete” Wright.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife Dolores, parents, Charles and Lillie, sisters Maxine, Addean and Gladys.
