Chad Nelson, 43, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m.– 7:00 p.m., September 3, 2022, at Lake Bemidji State Park.

Chad Michael Nelson was born July 2, 1979, in Abilene, Texas, to John Nelson and Michele Rossiter.  He grew up and attended Bemidji High School graduating in 1998.  On March 10, 2001, he married Danielle Peter at Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji.  To this marriage, sons, Blake and Barrick were born.  On June 5, 2010, he married Emma Moore in Nevis, MN.  To this marriage, a son, Gary was born.  Over the years, Chad worked for Log Homes of Minnesota, Midnight Sun Pools and Spas and recently at Greggs Plumbing.  He loved to tinker with everything.  His greatest escape was riding his motorcycle.  Above all, he loved his boys and whatever they wanted to do, directed his life.  Chad will be remembered for his unselfish character and love of family.   

Survivors include his wife, Emma Nelson, parents Michele Dunbar and John Nelson, sons Blake, Barrick and Gary Nelson, brother, Eric Nelson, grandparents Henry and Lorraine Rossiter, sisters, Anne Martins, Erin Cripe, mother and father in-law, Gary and Stephanie Moore as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.  He was preceded in death by grandparents Evelyn and John Nelson and step-father Gary Dunbar.
