Catherine Louise (Angerami) Ellenson

Catherine Louise Ellenson, born Catherine Louise Angerami on April 3, 1938 to Luco Antonio (Tony) and Gertrude Angerami in Boston Massachusetts, and peacefully passed away in St. Louis Park, MN on August 23, 2020. 

Cathy was born the oldest of three children, and graduated from high school in 1955.  She remained in Boston until 1957 when she married the love of her life Richard (Dick) Ellenson on August 31, 1957 in Roseau, MN.  They met at a military dance when his ship was docked in Boston.  They lived in Roseau for a few years then moved back to Massachusetts.  Together they had three children, all born in Boston.  In 1976, they moved from Massachusetts to Bemidji, MN and remained there until 1985.  From Bemidji, they moved around for a couple of years until permanently settling in Eden Prairie, MN in 1987 and resided there until the time of her death.

Cathy loved to garden her flowers and vegetables, she was an excellent cook.  You could always count on a wonderful meal followed up by baked treats of new recipes she liked to try.  Dick and Cathy traveled to many places in the US, including Hawaii.  Cathy traveled to Europe to spend time in Italy to see where her family immigrated from.

She started out in Boston working as a telephone operator, and also worked at a women’s specialty dress store where she bought her one-of-a-kind wedding dress. She was always very fashionable. After she was married, she did bookkeeping for the family businesses. After moving to Eden Prairie, she worked as a bookkeeper for Walgreens, which she retired from at the age of 70.

Cathy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who is survived by her husband of 63 years, children Jeannine Ellenson of Sanford, Florida, Joyce (Dennis) Kramer of Bemidji, MN and Gregory Ellenson of Hillsboro, OR, three grandchildren; Richard Kramer (Stacy Utsch), Anthony (Susan) Kramer, and Ashley Kramer, great-grandchildren; Jack, Quinn, and Nora Kramer.  She is also survived by one brother, John (Sandi) Angerami.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her infant brother Anthony, and several aunts and uncles.
