Bonnie Adaire (Gordon) Fullmer

Bonivan "Bonnie" Adaire Fullmer, of Bemidji, MN joined her family and friends in heaven April 18, 2023. She was surrounded by her children and family as she made her transition home. 

Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church, Bemidji, MN, Tuesday, April 25th, 2023. Visitation will be 12:00pm-2:00pm. The service will follow at 2:00pm. There will be a time of fellowship after the service with bars and refreshments. 

Bonnie Fullmer was born 12/17/1930 in Bagley, MN to Allen and Zelda Gordon. She graduated from North High in Minneapolis, MN and attended business school thereafter. Bonnie married Lawrence Jacob Fullmer on December 1st, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. They eventually settled in Bemidji, MN. 

Bonnie was the secretary at Bemidji Senior High School, in the history department, for many years followed by the Department of Indian Education, from which she retired. After retiring, she began her volunteer work at the Sanford Medical Center Gift Shop. She loved her fellow volunteers at the gift shop. They made her time there very special to her. 

Bonnie was a member of the Lions Club, Sons of Norway, and the First Lutheran Church. For over 50 years she faithfully attended First Lutheran Church services. She spent many joyful hours helping and serving where needed and spending time with the Circle and quilting groups. Every summer the outdoor “drive in” church services were the highlight of her Sundays. 

All of Bonnie’s friends and family were so near and dear to her heart. She not only loved sending cards to her friends and family, she truly enjoyed making them at the Senior Center as well. She also had a traveling passion that took her to many places that brought her a lot of happiness and joy. 

Bonnie loved to knit, crotchet, play games, and solve crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed going to craft shows, watching golf and Wheel of Fortune. Spending time with her family and friends was an absolute favorite overall. 

Bonnie had a beautiful, loving soul and was a beloved servant of God. She blessed so many with her loving, kind, compassionate heart of gold. She was a pillar of strength as well as the sweetest lady you could ever meet. She is already missed but there is comfort, peace, and joy knowing she is rejoicing in heaven and suffering no more. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Jacob Fullmer, daughter Stephanie Marie Fullmer, sister, Beverly Degan and brother Curtis Gordon.

She is survived by her son Lawrence (Karen) Fullmer, daughters Leslie (Jerry) Shofner and Laurie Soltau, grandchildren Courtney Fullmer, Ginny Blanchard, Grace (Soltau) (Jordan) Lendway, Danny Soltau, Olivia Soltau, great grandchildren Ezra and Keziah Lendway all of Bemidji, MN and many nieces and nephews.
