Beverly Jean (Watkins) Roberts

Beverly Jean (Watkins) Roberts, 91, of Erhard, formerly of Solway, died June 18th, 2023 at Park Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was born on February 16, 1932 to parents Charles and Olga (Lindstrom) Watkins, in Bear Creek Township, Clearwater County, Minnesota.

She married Stanley Roberts of Solway in 1949, together they had six children, until she was widowed in 1978. Throughout the years she was involved in many organizations and was a member of the Women of the Moose, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Bemidji Eagles Auxiliary, Marine Corps League Auxiliary, and the Beltrami County Historical Society. She was the Township Clerk in Jones Township for many years.

In the late 1990s she met Marvin Peasley of Erhard and they resided there before her moving into a care home late in 2022. She kept busy with many activities such as baking, sewing & quilting, flower & vegetable gardening, playing cards, and the dobro. She played for many years with Marvin and friends and enjoyed it greatly. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and witty writings, as well as historical writings.

Beverly is survived by her children, Bette Walker of Chisago, Jerry of Solway, Neil of Becida, Jeff of Bemidji, Lee of Solway, and George in New Mexico; brothers David and Michael Watkins, and sister Patricia Berg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Charles Dean, her brothers Charles Jr. “Buzz,” Gary, Duane “Buck,” and Richard; sisters Donna Fenner, Bonnie Wilander, Gladys Reid, and Doris Thorson.
