Arthur Paul Heldt Jr.

Arthur Heldt, 82, of Bemidji MN died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. He passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and children.

Art was born August 22, 1937 in Kelliher, MN to Arthur and Marjorie Heldt. He grew up on the family farm north of Kelliher. As a young man, Art went to work for his uncles on their farm near Eagle Bend, MN. In 1956, Art entered the U.S. Army where he became a paratrooper. After he left the military, he moved to Chicago and worked as a window washer on high rise buildings as well as painting water towers. In 1964, he moved to Bemidji and found his calling for work. He began driving truck. There were only 2 states he did not drive through; Alaska and Hawaii. Art met the love of his life, Arlene, and they married February 3, 1967 in South Dakota. Art enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising animals. His true passion was his family, the brothers and sisters at the Kingdom Hall and helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; children, Audrey (Terry) Johnson, Kevin (Jill) Lindquist, Kurtiss (Roxanne) Lindquist , Debra (John) Lortie and Kimberly Bachmann; 9 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herb (Lois) and David; sisters, Mary & Marjorie; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Thomas Lindquist; parents and siblings, Leonard, Glen, Fred, Esther Johnson, Ruth Waldo, Bonnie Johnson and Freida Newsome.
